On September 17th, 1946, the Swedish descendants of Augusto Bruno Nielson and Eugênio Nielson opened a carpentry shop in Joinville. They made wooden furniture, window frames and desks. One year later, Nielson & Brother remodeled the first bus body. Shortly afterwards, in 1949, they built a bus in total wooden structure, on a gigante Chevrolet chassis. It was the starting point of a business that in a few decades would turn into an important bus manufacturing company in the world-wide market.

When Harold Nielson (Augusto´s elder son) joined the company in 1956, new routes were set, and it walked on wide steps into the vanguard of the segment in Brazil, being distinguished with innovative and revolutionary products, as the models Diplomata in 1961, the Urbanuss in 1987 the Panoramico DD in 1998, and many others.

In 1990, the so called Carrocerias Nielson launches a new family of vehicles and changes the brand to BUSSCAR Ônibus , creating the mark that is known today in the International and Brazilian markets.

In spite of the death of Harold Nielson in the 1998, the company did not lose the design, comfort, durability and resistance characteristics of its products, that has been always distinguished.

In 1999, BUSSCAR started in the micro-bus market with the Micruss model and innovated the transport business with the Urbanuss Pluss, that soon became a reference.

In 2001, BUSSCAR launched a new family of vehicles, Vissta Buss and JumBuss. In 2002, Urbanuss Pluss Tour - the first tourism double-decker bus in Latin America. In 2003, the first rear engine Midi Bus in Brazil, called Miduss,   amongst many other prominent innovations and pioneer.

BUSSCAR Ônibus S.A. has always developed its own technology, from conception to the manufacture of solutions, in order to offer the maximum in comfort and security within all segments of its vehicles. With a long term view in the developing of solutions for passenger’s transportation, BUSSCAR became the only Brazilian manufacturer that has the technology and builds complete buses. The industrial complex of the company (in Joinville) encloses a total area of 1.000.000m2, with 84.000m2 of constructed area.

BUSSCAR’s group companies act in the whole branch of the automotive industry.  TECNOFIBRAS acts in the plastic sector and has developed its own technology throughout 25 years of performance in the market. CLIMABUSS, specialized in the production of bus air-conditioners, initiated its activities in 2002 and is already conquering its space in the market at wide steps, fortifying its mark.

The enterprising spirit of BUSSCAR goes on every day, focused on the costumer’s satisfaction, and most of all, ahead of its time, as a genuine Brazilian company, which is always looking at the future, and increasingly working to build and to fortify the mark BUSSCAR as "the name of the bus".
